C. Will become a member
of the Shiloh Shepherd Dog Club of America, Inc. (SSDCA, Inc.)
D. This bitch will not
be bred without full consent of Rising Star Shilohs.
E. Follow all of the proper
prenatal care requirements to insure superior health for all
puppies.
F. Will notify and keep
informed Rising Star Shilohs as to the progress of development
of said bitch, progress of pregnancy and whelping and progress
of puppies’ development.
G. Rising Star Shilohs
is entitled to this agreement as stated above. Rising Star Shilohs
has pick of litter before any of these puppies are spoken for
or sold. In the event the litter is small in number, Rising
Star Shilohs will make further arrangements so that the stipulations
in this contract can be satisfied and be agreeable to both parties.
H. Any changes to this
contract must be in writing and signed by both parties.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL THE PRICE OF THE PUPPY BE RETURNED
and the replacement time and selection will be a matter of choice
of the breeder. Dogs to be replaced must be brought to the breeder’s
(or shipped at the owner’s expense) along with all veterinary
records, health papers, x-rays, DNA verification and valid ISSR,
Inc. registration certificate before replacement will be made.
Under no circumstances will a replacement be made without proper
identification and certification provided by Owner, in addition,
the ISSR registration for the dog must be signed on the back to
the breeder. When these conditions have been met, and a puppy
of equal value is available, replacement will be made.
We the undersigned hereby
state that we have fully ready and understand the ISSR, Inc. Rules
& Regulations handbook (http://www.shilohshepherds.info/issr.htm
), as well as all items listed in this contract between Rising
Star Shilohs and Owner and agree to all parts as fully binding
between both parties. Furthermore, we understand that this is
a legal and binding contract, in the event I/We choose to register
the puppy/dog/bitch, or any progeny of same, with any registry
other than the ISSR, Inc., I/We will be liable to pay for damages
to Rising Star Shilohs, the amount of $10,000 plus any and all
legal fees involved.

It is agreed and understood that this Shiloh Shepherd will be
neutered/spayed as this Shiloh Shepherd was sold as a pet quality
individual or this said Shiloh Shepherd did not meet the qualifications
to be upgraded to breeding quality as per the ISSR, Inc. Rules
& Regulations.
It is further understood
that this Shiloh Shepherd puppy, if a MALE, should not be neutered
under the age of one (1) year but must be neutered prior to the
age of two (2) years. If a FEMALE, she should not be spayed prior
to her first heat cycle and preferably five (months) thereafter.
She must be spayed by two (2) years of age. These requirements
are to insure that said individual will be allowed to mature and
attain proper size and development. A legal veterinarian’s
certificate verifying that the procedure has been completed needs
to be presented to Rising Star Shilohs. New Owner accepts full
responsibility for this individual Shiloh Shepherd puppy and releases
Rising Star Shilohs from any liability.
The new owner(s) agree to
abide by the ISSR, Inc. rules and not to breed this Shiloh nor
register same with any other organization for any reason whatsoever.
In the even that the named owner(s) fail to uphold this agreement,
Rising Star Shilohs will be entitled to $5000 for damages, plus
any/all legal fees incurred. Furthermore, any litigation will
be held in the state of Rhode Island, County of __________________,
it being the origination of this transaction.

1. PRICING POLICY: Each litter
is evaluated individually and priced according to quality. We
take into consideration the pedigree (number of Champions in the
first 7 generations), production performance of both sire and
dam, previous progeny evaluation at maturity (LMX as well as individual),
hip history, etc. Our Goal is to produce the TOTAL dog, worthy
enough to be called a Shiloh Shepherd. Rising Star Shilohs breeds
to produce outstanding temperaments, superior intelligence, great
hips, correct conformation as per the ISSR Breed Standard and
GIANT SIZE!
A) PET QUALITY: These
are puppies selected from any litter that have a Disqualifying
Fault that could make the puppy unsuitable for breeding or showing.
Such faults could consist of anything the Breed Warden/Breeder
feels should not be passed don to the future progeny. We may
consider such items as: over/under bit, extremely heavy ears,
long muzzles with inadequate stops, small size with very fine
bone, short-hook-gay tails, etc. as very serious faults as per
the Breed Standard. Each puppy is evaluated individually and
the fault will be listed on the guarantee making this puppy
exempt against that fault only, but the puppy is still guaranteed
against all other items listed.

Puppies with seven (7) or more champions and/or puppies from
our 4th generation NB lines that possess three (3) or more titled
Shiloh Shepherd Champions with at least one of them being the
sire or dam (or both) are considered to be the ULTIMATE QUALITY
POSSIBLE!! These dogs have proven themselves in the registry
as well as the SHOWS. They possess the strongest gene pool possible
to produce the MOST awesome Shiloh Shepherds. As close to perfection
as can be attained! Specially selected offspring from such breedings
are fully guaranteed to be EXCELLENT SPECIMENS of the breed
and should, themselves, be bred and shown. (Remaining littermates

E. UPGRADES: on RED or
ORA puppies sold as B/W-U must be done BEFORE permanent papers
are issued. A separate ISSR application must be submitted with
your Breeder’s and the Breed Warden’s approvals.
We require that you contact us to arrange for the additional
(difference in original price paid) payment and full examination
of your puppy.
2. GUARANTEES: All puppies
are sold with a complete detailed guarantee protecting your investment.
The extent of your guarantee depends on the quality of puppy you
chose. Your copy will contain all the important information about
your puppy, plus will specify if you have purchased a non-upgradeable
(faulty) B/W “N” PET or upgradeable Top Quality Pet
or a Breeding or Show Quality QOLD, ORANGE, RED NB1, 2 OR 3 SHILOH
SHEPHERD OF DISTINCTION!
A. NON-UPGRADEABLE PET
quality puppies/dogs are covered against crippling hip dysplasia
for up to two (2) years. All puppies are also fully guaranteed
against any hereditary TEMPERAMENT FAULTS! We consider a
Sharp-Shy (coward) or Over-Sharp (vicious) dog as unsuitable
and recommend it be destroyed after a 90-day in-kennel evaluation
is completed. BOARD AND VET BILS WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY
OF THE OWNER. Destroyed dogs will be replaced with a pup
of equal value or a higher quality pup may be purchased
by paying the difference. Your guarantee lists the actual
price originally paid. Full credit may be applied, within
one year of the return/disposal of the original puppy/dog.
The actual disqualifying show “fault”
will be clearly explained and listed on your guarantee.
B. BREEDING AND UPGRADEABLE
PET QUALITY: Prospects are fully covered against HIP DYSPLASIA
and FAULTY TEMPERAMENTS and we give you FURTHER DETAILED protection
against gunshyness-over-sensitivity-timidity, etc. Your dog
must possess the sound mind and body necessary to complete his/her
temperament requirements for registry. We strive for superior
intelligence, with a stable-fearless-outgoing “personality”.
Any dog unable to pass the ISSR temperament (or ANY other) requirements
for registry will be replaced with a better quality pup. These
pups are the ULTIMATE quality stock recommended for breeding,
we expect huge size and the best possible hips from this preferred
stock, therefore, we want to protect the future quality of this
breed by providing an extensive guarantee.
C. GOLD-ORANGE-RED SHOW
QUALITY: We guarantee all the above, PLUS you will also be covered
against Hanging ears, monarchism/cryptorchism and overshot or
undershot bites. Not only do we guarantee that you have an excellent
specimen of the breed with NO DISQUALIFYING faults, but we ALSO
GUARANTEE that your dog (properly handled) CAN ATTAIN HIS/HER
CHAMPIONSHIP with a minimal amount of effort. These puppies
possess an impressive (FULL OF CHAMIOS) pedigree, the end result
of nearly 40 years of research and breeding (type-line-inbreeding-outcrossing)
hundreds of dogs, holding back and working with only the best
LINES Shiloh (kennels) has created. Any dog over three (3) years

3. CO-OWNERSHIP: Limited
co-ownerships will be available to anyone wishing to start a breeding
program. Only TOP QUALITY SHOW AND BREEDING QUALITY BITCHES will
be available to approved (ISSR Licensed) homes only.
A. All bitches purchased
on a co-ownership will carry our name until the contract is
fulfilled (please se separate co-ownership contracts.)
B. All bitches on co-ownership
must reside within a 100 mile radius of Rising Star Shilohs
except for established (ISSR) breeders.
C. RISING STAR SHILOHS
reserves the right to refuse any co-ownership sale to unqualified
Buyers that we feel will not be breeding to IMPROVE the Shiloh
Shepherd breed, or not interested in showing their dogs.
ALL POTENTIAL CO-OWNERS
MUST BE MEMBERS OF THE SSDCA, INC. and SIGNERS OF THE BREEDER
CODE OF ETHICS!
4. BREEDERS AGREEMENTS: Any
NB1, 2 and 3 Top Show Quality Males purchased from Rising Star
Shilohs must carry our name as co-owners, unless sold to an approved,
well-established ISSR licensed breeder. Furthermore, you will
be asked to become a member of the SSDCA, Inc. and sign the Breeder’s
Code of Ethics and a separate B/A contract that states the following
requirements:
A. You agree to show the
said male, at an;y show within a 100 mile radius of your home
as often as possible.
B. You agree NEVER to
breed this dog to any bitch without prior approval from Rising
Star Shilohs. Pictures of the ISSR registered bitch, along with
a five (5) generation pedigree, must be sent to Rising Star
Shilohs for approval - PRIOR TO ANY BREEDING by the B/A male.
C. You may retain all
stud fees paid for service to approved bitches. Rising Star
Shilohs reserves the right to three (3) FREE Stud Services to
be provided by your B/A male to any bitches on Lease, owned
or co-owned by Rising Star Shilohs, partners or VIBs.
5. STUD SERVICE: Is available
only to APPROVED Top Quality ISSR registered bitches as follows:
A. GOLD/ORANGE/RED PAPERED
MALES LESS THAN TWO (2) YEARS FOF AGE WITH LESS THAN FOUR (4)
PROVEN BREEDIGNS may still possess questionable genetic information
necessary to create the best possible gene pool combinations
in order to produce the best possible progency. Therefore, such
males are reasonably priced until the “TEST” breedings
are complete.
IF THE MALE DOES NOT
HAVE ANY SHOW TITLES AS OF YET; HIS SERVICE IS - $750.00
IF HE HAS CHAMPIONSHIP
POINTS, OR IF HE IS FINISHED CHAMPION, HIS SERVICE IS - $1000.00
IF HE IS AN APPROVED
(NB) ALTDEUTCHE SCHAEFERHUNDE, HIS SERVICES START AT - $1000.00
*Proven progeny must have reached at least one (1) year of
age and passed all the registry requirements.
B. PROVEN MALES are rated
by their individual accomplishments as well as that of their
progeny.
If he has produced three
(3) or more champions, his service is - $2000.00
If he is a champion
and has produced three (3) or more champions, his service
is - $2500.00
C. TOP CHAMPION (ROM)
proven stud fees will increase depending on the number of successful
champion progeny produced. Example: a GV (Grand Victor) or a
NS Ch. (National Select Champion) stud that has provuced at
lest one (1) GV or three (3) NS or twelve (12) or more champions
will be priced no less than - $4500.00
D. All stud fees include
five (5) days free board plus at least two (2) guaranteed ties
or two (2) natural AIs. An additional $75.00 will be charged
for airport pickup and delivery of any bitch shipped in, plus
$10 per day for any additional days the bitch has to be kept
at Rising Star Shilohs. Any approved veterinarian expenses will
be the responsibility of the bitch owner.
CO-OWNERSHIP BITCHES
WILL NOT BE CHARGED A STUD FEE, BUT ALL SHIPPING AND ADDITIONAL
EXPENSES WIL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BITCH OWNER.
6. RESERVATIONS: Since the
demand for puppies is usually much greater than our supply, we
strongly recommend that you reserve your puppy early. Our liters
are usually sold out 3-4 months prior to birth.
A. A $400 deposit on a
puppy will hold your pick position for ten (10) business days.
After the tie, the deposit will automatically be “bumped”
down the list as prepayments come in. Example: If you send a
deposit in January for a specific pup tht is due to be born
in May, you would probably have FIRST PICK, if balance is not
paid within the first 10 days and someone else sends in a full
payment, you will then be dropped to SECOND PICK and so on.
(Only prepayment will guarantee your position).
B. In the event that you
have prepaid for your puppy and choose not to take it, but go
on to the next litter the same principle is applied. You will
maintain your place on the next litter. We will continue to
work with you until we are able to MEET YOUR EXACT REQUIREMENTS!
If you agree to take a
certain pup, but fail to do so when it is ready for shipment,
you will be charged a $75.00 Special Handling Charge in addition
to a weekly board charge of $60.00/week that the pup remains
at the kennel until shipping.
C. If we have a pup that
meets your requirements and have held it for you until shipping
time ad you then decide for whatever reason that you prefer
to wait for another litter, you will automatically forfeit the
$400 deposit; but any additional monies which have been paid
will be credited toward the next litter.
We constantly strive to
meet your exact requirements and we may change you over to another
litter if we feel that you would be getting a higher quality
pup. In most cases we UPGRADE peoples’ choices to the
higher priced litter if they have been on the books for a while
and still have not received the exact puppy they want. Our goal
is to provide each new owner with a puppy they can enjoy for
years to come.
PLEASE
NOTE: No personal checks will be accepted unless presented thirty
(30) days prior to scheduled shipment or “pickup”
of your puppy. Late payments received less than ten (10) days
prior to scheduled shipment will delay the shipping date of
your puppy and you will be responsible for an additional $75.00
penalty charge. Thank you for your cooperation.
7. SELECTIONS: All puppy
selections are based strictly on a priority basis. Simply, the
first prepayment received on a particular litter, receives FIRST
pick puppy. Second prepayment received gets SECOND pick, etc.
(See Section 6 for prepayment priority and discounts).
A. At 5-7 weeks of age,
photos are taken of the pups and sent to the prospective new
owners, along with our recommendations as to personality (type
of temperament), future color, size, etc. Any change in the
original selection must be made at this tie. Final confirmation
must be provided immediately after the LER is completed.
B. In the event that you
are not satisfied with the sex, color, coat, etc of the available
pups in the litter ouo originally selected, you can have your
payment transferred to the next available litter in your category.
This usually means a longer waiting period, but a much better
“selection” position. This transfer is only done
once - or at our discretion.
PLEASE
NOTE: You will be on “automatic standby” in the
event a transaction is not completed on another puppy in your
category.
8. SHIPPING: Most of our
pups are shipped out via PDQ (Priority Counter to Counter). The
specific airline company we use will depend on scheduled flights
in your area. Ten (10) days prior to scheduled shipping the full
$350 (includes FDA approved crate, veterinarian’s health
certificate, airfare, insurance, etc.) must be prepaid to Rising
Star Shilohs.
A. You will be notified
of the approximate shipping date (changes are only made in the
event of harsh weather conditions - most shipments are sent
out exactly as stated).
B. All puppies are shipped
out between 8-9 weeks of age with complete “shots and
worming” history along with a health certificate and complete
nutritional/feeding instructions.
C. The balance due (final
payment) on your puppy plus shipping charges MSST reach us ten
(10) days prior to scheduled shipping date.
PLEASE
NOTE: No personal checks will be accepted as final payment.
Any NSF checks returned to us will be considered as “non
payment” for the said pup and any prior payments or deposits
will automatically be forfeited.
D. In the even your payment
does NOT reach us in time and scheduled shipping has to be postponed,
we will regretfully have charge you an additional $75.00 plus
$10.00/day board for “special handling” arrangement
to be made.
E. In the event you are
unable to pay the balance due on the pup you selected, you may
chose to forfeit your deposit or make “time payents.”
You will be chared $60.00 per week for each week the shipment
is delayed, plus $75.00 “special shpping” fees.
PLEASE
NOTE: Under no circumstances will any puppy be “held over”
for more than four (4) weeks. If total balance plus all other
charges are unpaid at this point, all funds paid on such puppy
will be automatically forfeited. NO refunds will be made, or
credit slips provided.
F. During periods when
weather conditions range above 45 degrees, but below 85 degrees,
you can choose to have your puppy shipped out as Freight Cargo
Collect. You are expected to pay shipping charges directly to
the airline handling the shipment of your pup. You may choose
to ship your own proper sized, airline approved crate to us
or purchase one directly from the airline. Most air freight
charges (with crate) run about $300 to $400. **All shipments
to foreign countries must be ‘prepaid” in advance.
We also charge for “special arrangements that have to
be made through consulates, etc.
9. REPEAT BUSINESS is always
appreciated and all of our Repeat Customers receive a 10% (ten

dogs, r dogs purchased on co-ownership or breeder’s agreement
contracts.
10. QUANTITY DISCOUNTS are
available to anyone wishing to make large purchases. WE DO NOT
SELL “LITTER” LOTS! We do sell groups of puppies from
a variety of litters to be shipped out together or in intervals
as per contract agreement.
A. We provide the base
10% (ten percent) discount for any purchase of up to four (4)
pups. (The first pup selling at full price).
B. On any purchase of
five (5) or more pups, purchased at the same time, we will provide
a full 20% (twenty percent) discount (First pup selling at full
purchase price.)
11. COMMISSIONS: We feel
strongly that our customers (VIBs excluded) should receive proper
recognition for their efforts on our behalf. We are glad to pay
a 10% (ten percent) commission to any customers that refer their
friends, etc, to us and there is a resulting sale. (Please insist
that your friends mention your name when contacting us to insure
that you get full credit for the sale.)
A. All commission are
paid in CASH and sent out within ten (10) days fro the time
of sale. Verification of referral must be provided or,
B. You can take 20% (twenty
percent) credit on any purchase of up to $4000.00. This includes
puppies, adults, stud servies, etc.,
C. For any purchase made
over $2500.00 you will receive a 5% (five percent) commission.
D. All commissions are
based on the actual price paid by your referral. As an option,
your commission may be applied instead as a discount to your
referral’s total purchase price at the time of sale. (VIBs
excluded)
12. GUARANTEED REPLACEMENTS:
All Shiloh Shepherd pups are sold with a gull guarantee. Please
read your copy carefully. If a replacement is to be made due to
a genetic defect, the conditions of the guarantee must be met.
Additional clarifications are as follows:
A. No replacement will
be made, or credit given to anyone that has their dog destroyed
or makes it unavailable for autopsy by a veterinarian that both
parties agree upon. No credit slips will be given to anyone
that cannot prove (with receipts) that nutritional guidelines
established by Rising Star Shilohs, at time of purchase, were
followed to their fullest.
B. Credit slips will be
given for the original amount paid, after your guarantee receipt
is presented and verified by Rising Star Shilohs’s records.
C. You may use your credit
slip towards the purchase of any Shiloh Shepherd pup or adult
available. In the event you chose a more expensive one, the
cash difference must be paid to Rising Star Shilohs.
D. All deposits and credit
slips will be held on the books for a maximum of ninety (90)
days. If you choose not to use your credit slip or refuse to
pay the balance of purchase price on an animal you have selected,
you automatically forfeit all claims.
E. In event a puppy is
unavailable, Rising Star Shilohs will extend your slip until
such time as a puppy, in your category is available. The extension
can be renewed every ninety (90) days by written request.
F. Rising Star Shilohs
reserves the right to refuse any further extensions if you fail
to accept a particular puppy that you requested us to hold for
you. If arrangements cannot be made to ship your pup, or you
refuse to pick him/her up at 8 weeks of age, you will be responsible
for any board charges. (Refer to Sections 6 and 8 above).
Our interest in you does
not end with a “Sale” it only begins there. We want
to do ALL that we can do for you to help you bring your very special

are provided for all Shiloh Shepherd owners through the SSDCA,

“A”
TEMPERAMENT
(NOT MAN MADE)
What is correct Shiloh Shepherd
Dog Temperament? The word Temperament in relation to general application
denotes character, sensitivity, discrimination, spirit and intellect.
It may mean the absence or presence of one or more of these psychological
traits. The true Shiloh Shepherd must be an animal, fit in body
and mentally be a devoted and suitable companion to his owners.
He should have the potential ability to do the essential work
of which the breed was created. The Shiloh Shepherd can have a
kind and sweet disposition, and still be protective. He must be
alert and eager to please his master and be a willing worker when
properly trained. Poor temperament can be a hereditary fault or
man-made. Environment can influence eventual temperament to a
large degree, particularly as it is applied to early puppy experience.
Such a temperament fault can be corrected with kindness, patience
and training. Intense early socialization and puppy kindergarten
training is mandatory toward proper development and is a prerequisite
to the fulfillment of this contract.
PLEASE NOTE: The enclosed
Nutritional Agreement.
Faults of personality that
cannot be repaired are a result of hereditary influence and are
permanent. If the following type of bad temperament is present,
the puppy must be returned to the breeder and registration papers
signed over. Another puppy of correct temperament shall be given
as a replacement.
A. OVERLY SHARP OR VICIOUS
- This overbearing bully mistrusts everyone and intensely dislikes
strangers and other dogs. Such an animal is extremely dangerous
and is generally under sensitive to bodily discomfort or pain.
This animal is extremely difficult to control and refuses to
accept any type of correction without retaliation.
B. SHARP-SHY OR FEAR-BITER
- This animal, if cornered, will urinate and often bite out
of fear and sheer panic. He is noted for carrying his tail tucked
under his belly while growling and snapping at anyone that attempts
to approach him. He spends his life trying to either escape
from the world or destroy it, but is unable to adjust to living
“in” it.
C. SHY OR OVERSENSITIVE
- This pathetic creature is frightened of strangers, loud noises
and new situations. He proceeds to “spook” or “bolt”;
retreating without provocation. He is simply a coward. He is
noted for literally “shivering” or trying to escape
under or into a small dark place when approached by a friendly
stranger. He will constantly urinate and cower if subjected
to any type of mild correction by anyone.
Very mild degrees of the
above type of temperament faults are often due to lack of varied
experiences with strangers and new activities. Do not be neglectful
or over protective of your pup, share him with others, as it will
make a well adjusted citizen of him! Socialization is very critical
during the first 18 months of your puppy’s life - be sure
that you are not creating a problem that will eventually cause
misery for years to come. Rising Star Shilohs will not be responsible
for any puppy that has been improperly trained or socialized.
Rising Star Shilohs also reserves the right to fully examine all
aspects pertaining to environmental dysfunctions as related to
said puppy’s formative year - at owner’s expense.
Furthermore, Rising Star Shilohs reserves the right to have this
puppy evaluated at an approved kennel, for not less than 90 days,
at owner’s expense, to determine the validity of said disorder,
whether it was created through environmental stimuli, and there
by can be improved, or if indeed it is proven to be inherited
genetic defect.

HIP
DYSPLASIA
Hip Dysplasia is a congenital
malformation of the ball and socket joint of the hip. The problem,
not an exclusive canine disorder, exists in most domestic species
- including man. Depending upon the severity of the disease, the
dog may or may not become lame. Many affected dogs lead normal
lives. The Sire and Dam of your puppy have both been x-rayed and
diagnosed as normal by qualified veterinarians in the field. Nevertheless,
this ailment is considered a hereditary trait with irregular penetrance.
Meaning normal parents are capable of producing abnormal offspring.
It has also been proven in various recent studies that, to a large
degree, environmental factors play a major role in the development
of hip dysplasia. In order to maintain the excellent hip records
associated with the Shiloh Shepherds, we insist that you follow
the feeding program prescribed by Rising Star Shilohs. Failure
to do so will invalidate this guarantee. Your puppy is, therefore,
covered as follows:
A. GOLD PAPERED - SHOW/BREEDING
PROSPECT: Since this puppy has been purchased with the intent
of being used as a future stud or brood bitch, it is fully guaranteed
to OFA at three (3) years of age. In the event his/her x-rays
are not approved for certification, even though a “border
line” problem is apparent, the said dog may be returned
to Rising Star Shilohs for replacement. The dog, when returned
to Rising Star shilohs, must be accompanied by all health papers,
feeding and exercise information and x-rays. In addition, the
ISSR registration for the dog must be signed back to the breeder.
When these conditions have been met and a puppy of equal value
is available, replacement will be made. This puppy is further
guaranteed against genetic hip problems prevalent to any of
its littermates, making it suitable for breeding purposes. In
the event Rising Star Shilohs discovers this to be the case,
the said dog may be returned to the breeder, as described above,
and a suitable replacement shall be made.
B. ORANGED PAPERED - SHOW/BREEDING
PROSPECT: This puppy is fully guaranteed to meet all of the
ISSR requirements for permanent registration and to pass an
OFA rating by three (3) years of age. No further littermate
or breeding guarantee is provided.
C. BLACK/WHITE PAPERED
- PET QUALITY: All puppies are fully guaranteed against crippling
hip dysplasia for up to two (2) years. Any puppy found to be
severely dysplastic and unable to function as a household pet,
must be properly diagnosed by at least two (2) veterinarians
to that effect. The dog must be returned to the breeder accompanied
by complete x-ray, health, feeding, care and exercise records.
In addition, the dog’s ISSR registration must be signed
back to the breeder. When these conditions have been met and
a puppy of equal value is available, replacement will be met.
Any puppy sold with a spay/neuter
agreement and discounted in price as per Policies & Price
sheets will only be guaranteed as a Pet Quality. The final disposition
of any dog found to be dysplastic would be entirely up to Rising
Star Shilohs. The breeder may agree to allow the owner to keep
the said dog, if neutered or spayed, or it may be decided that
the dog must be destroyed. In either case, the ISSR registration
must be signed back to the breeder and returned with all other
requested records and information.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL
ANY PUPPY BE REPLACED IF COMPLETE, DETAILED RECORDS AND THE PUPPY
ITSELF ARE MADE UNAVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION TO THE BREEDER OR TO
SOMEONE DESIGNATED BY THE BREEDER FOR THAT PURPOSE.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL
CASH BE REFUNEDED AT ANY TIME, NOR WILL A PUPPY OF GREATER VALUE
BE GIVEN AS REPLACEMENT. This guarantee MUST be presented at the
time of replacement as proof of purchase, quality said puppy is
guaranteed for actual purchase price. If a replacement puppy in
your category is not immediately available, another puppy of greater
value from a different category may be purchased with the credit
for your returned puppy applied to same.

RISING STAR SHILOHS hereby
reserves the right to REFUSE replacement of any dog returned for
temperament or hip problems caused by owner abuse and/or negligence!
Any puppy that is kept grossly
overweight, has received unauthorized over supplementation or
has NOT received the required supplements, as specified by the
breeder, or has been kept unchecked for worm infestations, etc.,
or dog has been kicked downstairs, kept constantly confided to
cold, damp basements, or required to do extreme physical activities
(such as high jumps and scaling walls) during their “growth
period” will develop hip problems. A dog kept totally unsocialized,
beaten and tortured will also develop “temperament”
problems. These “man-made” problems which are not
caused by hereditary defects are NOT the responsibility of the
breeder. Rising Star Shilohs further reserves the right to examine
any questionable conditions pertaining to said puppy’s health
and welfare at the owner’s expense. Rising Star Shilohs
reserves the right to request proper validation from the owner,
via puppy class certification, food and vet receipts, etc. that
the standards of this guarantee were upheld to their fullest.

GOLD
- SHOW QUALITY
Only puppies sold as Gold-Show
Breeding prospects and priced at $2500.00 or more will further
be covered as follows:
A. HANGING EARS - The
time of development at which a Shiloh Shepherd puppy’s
ears are upright and alert varies from twelve weeks to ten or
twelve months. Sometimes an extremely large boned dog’s
ears will not be permanently strong until fifteen (15) months.
Nevertheless, usually the “base” of the pup’s
ears will be up at an early age. Remember the set of the ear
is not to be mistaken for lack of strength. Ear difficulties
should be brought to the attention of the breeder at the beginning
of the problem. The breeder’s early advice may save needless
veterinary expense. Some dogs will require shaving/taping, this
should be done ONLY under your breeder’s direction. Failure
to thoroughly document procedures could result in voiding this
guarantee. Under no circumstances will the dog be considered
as having permanently soft ears until after fifteen (15) months
of age. If the puppy is to be replaced, a statement signed by
a licensed veterinarian providing that this is definitely a
hereditary problem, not once caused by injury, poor care or
mistreatment, must be presented to the breeder along with the
dog for inspection. The breeder reserves the right to have the
dog examined by another authorized veterinarian for further
verification that this is indeed a permanent condition caused
by hereditary defect. The dog must be returned accompanied by
complete health, care, feeding, exercise and x-ray records.
In addition, the dog’s ISSR registration must be signed
back to the breeder. When these conditions have been met, and
a puppy of equal value is available, replacement shall be made.
B. MONORCHIDISM OR CRYPTORCHIDISM
- Both testicles of male dogs should have been descended by
eight (8) months of age. Those male dogs having one (1) or no
testicles after twelve (12) months of age shall be replaced
with another puppy of equal value. To receive replacement, the
dog must be returned in good condidtion, aside from the monorchid
or cryptorchid, accompanied by a signed statement from a licensed
veterinarian to that effect. In addition, the dog’s ISSR
registration must be signed back to the breeder. When these
conditions have been met and a puppy of equal value is available,
a replacement will be made.
C. OVERSHOT OR UNDERSHOT
- If the puppy proves to develop an unacceptable bite due to
hereditary influences and is, therefore, disqualified from ring
competitions, a replacement puppy of equal value will be given.
To receive replacement, the dog must be returned to Rising Star
Shilohs accompanied by complete health, feeding, care, exercise
and x-ray records. A certified statement from a licensed veterinarian
stating that the condition is irreversible and due to hereditary
factors, must be included. (Missing teeth or bite problems caused
by improper care, such as tug-of-war play with a puppy less
than six (6) months of age, improper medical treatments or accidents
- are not the responsibility of the breeder.) In addition, the
dog’s ISSR registration must be signed back to the breeder.
When these conditions have been met and a dog of equal value
is available, replacement will be made.
Gold quality dogs are further
guaranteed to attain CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS IN TWELVE (12) SHOW CLUSTERS
or less. Any dog/bitch over three (3) years of age, (properly
handled) that is unable to earn points, as stated above, will
be replaced by a higher quality specimen. Verification of dog’s
failings must be presented along with complete health records
when dog is returned. Rising Star Shilohs reserves the right to
refuse replacement if the dog is not in excellent health and condition.

PAPERED - SHOW/BREEDING QUALITY
Puppies purchased under Orange
papers are fully covered against temperament defects and canine
hip dysplasia as stated above.
EXCLUSION:
We are not guaranteeing that your puppy will win at all shows.
Only proper handling and care can insure you have a chance to
place. We only guarantee that your puppy does not have any genetically
disqualifying faults that would prevent him/her from winning and
that said puppy possesses all the traits needed for a good show
or breeding prospect.

QUALITY - BLACK/WHITE PAPERED
Pet quality puppies are fully
guaranteed against any temperament defects and canine hip dysplasia
(as per item C). Although they will grow up to be wonderful companions,
they may posses “show” faults that make the unsuitable
for breeding, therefore, “show” guarantee is not applicable.
UNDER
NO CIRCUMSTANCES will a puppy sold as “Pet Quality”
or with a Spay/Neuter Agreement be replaced for hanging ears,
monorchidism/cryptorchidism or an overshot/undershot bite, only
Show/Breeding quality puppies are covered for these defects.

your personal protection and as a safeguard toward the breed.
How you raise that puppy, what you feed him/her and how much attention
and exercise you provide depends on you. What kind of protection
he/she receives against distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvovirus,
rabies, etc., is your responsibility. Rising Star Shilohs has
always gone to great lengths to help all new owners understand
the kind of nutrition, care and training your puppy needs. Proper
growth and development of your puppy depends on how well you apply
the information that the breeder has provided for you. Please
accept the responsibility that you owe your new purchase. By properly
caring for your puppy you are protecting the investment you have
already made. With proper nutrition, training, care and love your
puppy will develop into a dog we can ALL BE ROUD of!
THIS
GURANTEE IS NULL AND VOID IN THE EVENT THAT THE SEPARATE NUTRITION
